Group Lessons
The minimum age required to participate in the group lesson is 6 yrs old for skiers & 8 yrs old for snowboarders.  For younger children please inquire about our Snow Munchkin lesson.

The Learn to Ski & Snowboard Program is designed to introduce students to the exciting sport of skiing and snowboarding. This program is offered for four consecutive weeks, it is available in 2.5 or 4.5 hour sessions. The minimum group size required is 15, the maximum is 600.

The package includes a lift ticket, rentals (if applicable) and a progressive lesson program using our own innovative zone teaching method.

Sunburst Ski & Snowboard Club Cards
Upon completion of the four week Learn to Ski & Learn to Snowboard Program, students become members in either the Sunburst Ski Club or Sunburst Snowboard Club. The students will receive club cards that offer themselves and a guest HUGE savings on lift tickets & rental equipment.  For more information on this exciting program please call our group sales office or email groups@skisunburst.com.

Scout Nights- Are you looking for a great winter activity to enhance your meetings? Join us for Scout Nights! Scouts can ski/snowboard or tube at discounted rates on select Saturdays throughout the winter. Sessions are from 2:00-7:00 or 4:00-10:00 on Saturday’s December 15th, January 19th and February 16th.
Ask us about earning badges, belt loops and other programs!
Group minimums are waived for these nights!

Fellowship Nights- Do you have a small Youth Group or Church Group that would love to come and do a winter activity at a discounted rate?  Saturday, February 2nd & Sunday, March 3rd, sessions begin at 2:00pm.

Home School Days- Need a fun, outdoor gym activity this winter? Bring the kids to Sunburst to learn the lifetime sport of skiing or snowboarding. Sessions are available Friday’s from 10:00-2:00, as well as Monday January 21st and February 18th from 10:00-4:00. Tried it? Loved it? Friday Fieldtrips – Be the “cool” teacher, take gym class outdoors this winter. Join us Fridays and we’ll teach your students a lifetime sport. Session times are 10:00-2:00, plenty of time to enjoy the fresh air and still get back to school for the bus ride home. Your students will be talking about this (and you) for years to come!  

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to slide down a 900 foot chute with a 10 story drop in speeds up to 40 mph?   Here’s your chance! Come on out and experience our snow tubing hill.  We’ll have you laughing all the way to the bottom! Then we’ll take you back to the top on our Magic Carpet tubing lift. Tubing doesn’t get any better than this!

Science of Tubing
Our 3 hour Science of Tubing program is a great way to experience physics in an outdoor classroom setting.
Our ideal laboratory allows an opportunity to not only witness the laws of science in action, but also to feel them!  Once your science program is complete, students have free time to tube until their session is over.   Materials are supplied and lunch packages are available upon request. Science of Snowmaking
$16.00 per student
Our 3 hour Science of Snowmaking program is a great way to learn how snow is made. Discover how Sunburst is able to open early and stay open throughout Wisconsin’s crazy weather. After the ½ hour class is completed the students are free to tube (also available as add-on to other programs for $5.00).

Reading Incentives
Sunburst Ski & Tubing Area is offering a reading incentive program this winter.  By reading just 500 minutes (grade K5-5) or 1,000 minutes (grades 6-8), students can receive a FREE tubing voucher valid for the current season.

Tips for Your First Day

Take a lesson!!! Like anything, you'll improve the most when you receive some guidance. The best way to become a good skier or snowboarder is to take a lesson from one of our qualified instructors. You'll safely learn more in a 1 hour lesson than you will all day on your own.

• Obtain proper equipment. Be sure to have your ski or snowboard bindings adjusted correctly. You can rent ski or snowboarding equipment at Sunburst.

• Dress in layers. Layering allows you to accommodate your body's constantly changing temperature. For example, dress in polypropylene underwear (top and bottoms), which feels good next to the skin, dries quickly, absorbs sweat and keeps you warm. Wear a turtleneck, sweater and jacket.

• Be prepared. Mother Nature has a mind of her own. Bring a headband or hat with you to the slopes, 60 percent of heat-loss is through the head. Wear gloves or mittens (mittens are usually better for those susceptible to cold hands).

• Know your limits. Learn to ski and snowboard in control.

• If you're tired, stop skiing. Stop before you become fatigued. Injuries usually result from fatigue. Have a seat and enjoy the people around you. Most of all have fun.

What to Bring

Here is our list of recommended items for you to bring skiing or snowboarding in order to guarantee a fun first day on the slopes. If you are in need of anything on this list when you get here, most items are available in the OGI Forgot Shop.

• Hat - if your head is warm the rest of you is likely to stay warm.

• Waterproof Gloves/Mittens - mittens are warmest.

• Goggles/Sunglasses - Goggles are strongly recommended on cold or snowy days for warmth and increased visibility.

• Jacket/Parka (water resistant)

• Synthetic or wool base layers for top & bottom - it's better to be warm than cold, you can always shed layers. Synthetic materials help to pull moisture away from your skin. Once again, do not wear cotton as a base layer.

• Snow/Water resistant pants - very important, your 1st day will acquaint your butt to the snow, keep it warm & dry.

• Warm, dry socks - No cotton. Wear only one pair of socks.

• Sunscreen - SPF 15 or higher

• Lip Balm

• Snack, Fruit, Energy Bar

• ID, Wallet, Cash or major credit card.

• Extra Clothes, Shoes - to change into when you're all done, in order to go out and celebrate your 1st day.

• Equipment – If you are not renting: either skis, poles and boots; or snowboard and snowboard specific boots.
